Best Coconut avocado hair mask for all seasons

If we lived in a perfect world, we would have a good hair day every day of the week. Unfortunately, we have to work towards achieving that perfectly glossy, smooth, and soft hair finish. I'm here to make sure you don't have to work too hard or burn the bank buying expensive products to have your hair looking on point all day, every day. All you need is two simple ingredients to kiss all your hair troubles goodbye.

I'm sure you've all heard about avocado on toast but have you ever heard of avocado in a hair mask? Have you ever heard of avocado and coconut oil together in a hair mask? If you've answered no to both of these questions, then you've come to the right place. If you answered yes, stick around anyway for the perfect DIY recipe for the perfect hair mask that I will reveal at the end of the blog.

I've already revealed the first secret, which is the two ingredients you'll be working with: coconut and avocado. But you're probably wondering why. Here's where the second reveal comes in. We use hair masks when our hair needs some tender loving care from us, when it's feeling dull, dry, and frizzy, and when we want it to look perfect.

Coconut oil is the nirvana of all hair care essentials, and so is an absolute must for our special hair mask. Coconut oil, in its pure form, contains all types of fatty acids, including lauric acid, which moisturizes dry hair shafts and helps deliver proteins that have otherwise been lost as a result of chemical damage. It is excellent for all hair types, particularly hair, which is more prone to dryness and frizz. If you pair coconut oil with avocado, you might have created a superfood for your hair.  Avocado, though on the pricier side of ingredients for hair care, is excellent for your hair. Its profound benefits will soon make you forget the price tag as you start to see it as a worthwhile investment for your hair. It contains healthy oils and vitamins that help nourish and hydrate the hair, making it look shiny and super soft.

If your hair has been color-treated, heat damaged, or undernourished; then a coconut avocado mask is just what you need. Coconut oil helps nutrients absorb into the hair, giving it the nutrients it's missing. And naturally, when your hair feels healthy on the inside, it looks great on the outside.

When choosing a hair mask, other factors such as porosity come into play. Porosity is the hair's ability to absorb and retain moisture, so low porosity hair is often dry and frizzy. A coconut avocado mask is excellent for low porosity hair, usually a curly or wavy texture.

The weather can also determine which products and ingredients you put in your hair. In humid weather, hair becomes more prone to dryness and inevitably frizz because humidity sucks up the hair's moisture. If you're experiencing a merciless monsoon season or live in a humid area, a coconut avocado hair mask might be your hair's saving grace.

The avocado hair mask is so intensely hydrating that even the ancient Egyptians were obsessed with it! They used the avocado fruit as a natural moisturizer for the hair, and so can you. Avocado fruit is infused with nutrients, including biotin and vitamin B-complex, which are essential for hair growth. It also contains minerals such as magnesium and potassium, which are beneficial for hair that is prone to breakage.

The frequency of your hair mask usage comes down to the condition of your hair. On healthy hair, using a hair mask once a week is more than enough. However, if your hair is severely damaged, it would be preferred to amp up the frequency twice or even thrice a week. Because it is a deeply nourishing treatment, you can't go wrong with it as long as you're applying the right ingredients for a suitable amount of time.

You've made it to the end of the blog, where I'm about to share a foolproof coconut avocado hair mask recipe with all the steps. First thing's first: gather all your ingredients. You will need:

  • One ripe avocado
  • Half a cup of coconut oil
  • One tablespoon of honey
  • Two tablespoons of buttermilk

Now you need to mix them all in a bowl. Extract the seed of the avocado and crush the fruit with a fork. Add the coconut oil, the honey, and the buttermilk simultaneously and let the fruit absorb the wet ingredients. Once it's nice and smooth, dampen your hair with a bit of water. Apply the mask to your hair till it's evenly coated. Leave the mask in your hair for up to 30 minutes before rinsing it out with your favorite shampoo and conditioner.

So there you have it! If you think these steps are too cumbersome for you, head on over to the Botanic Hearth website and get your hands on our Avocado Coconut Hair Mask, made with love and care. Use it as described above and enjoy great hair every day!
